John & Christina Yuka Photo Art

Sunday I’m working with Yulia from Yuka Photo Art.  I’ve had the chance to work with her once before and her work is fantastic.  In fact her photo is used as our blog header.  John and Christina shared their engagment photos by Yulia and I really think she captured their energy and I can’t wait to celebrate with them and work with Yulia again this Sunday!

With the update of the website and blog a few entries (more like a million) and photos didn’t make it. Here are a few photos of uplighting at Esperanza Mansion taken by Tom Mike.

I forgot to mention in my recap that I had the pleasure of working with Tom Mike again on Sunday at Marty and Tiffany’s reception.  Tom’s awesome to work with and I have a blast everytime I work with him.  Oh, and he’s a phenomenal photographer too!  Click here to visit his website.
Make sure to check out his wedding gallery and specifically the slide shows for Sean & Kerry and Melissa & Ranko which are recent events we’ve worked together.

Thank you Tom!  Enjoy.

It’s ON! Saturday the 25th was the official start of Wedding Season for Fingerlakes Entertainment and our year started off with an amazing event! Bryan and Meg from the Buffalo area held their wedding ceremony and reception at Esperanza Mansion on Keuka Lake and I was honored to be involved with both.

The Ceremony started at 11:30am, which was a pretty early start for me.  The night before Jason and I were at the Lodge At Welch Alyn in Skaneateles for the Cato Meridian Prom and it was a late night and early morning to get ready for Bryan and Meg’s ceremony. They have really great taste in music and wanted something unique, fun and different for their ceremony music.  For prelude music they requested String Quartet Tributes of current/recent Alternative and Pop Hits. I highly recommend the Vitamin String Quartet for this type of tribute and that’s exactly what they requested and what was played.

Here is a list of the Vitamin String Quartet Songs played during the reception.

Viva La Vida
Cable Car
Clocks
Yellow
100 Years
All I want is You
Hallelujah
Don’t Stop Believing
How to Save a Life
Bittersweet Symphony (Seating of Mothers)

Meg, her father Steve, and Matrons of Honor Mie Mie, and Lorri, and Ring Bearer Grady, and Flower Girls Ava and Sara all entered to Pachelbel’s Canon in D’, performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. The ceremony was beautiful, the weather was amazing and Meg and Bryans vows to each other, which they had written and memorized ver amzaing and very touching. After the ring exchange they presented a bracelet to Grady, Meg’s son, and there wasn’t a dry eye under the tent!Meg and Bryans recessional was You Are My Hope, by the Reindeer Section and Beautiful Day by U2 for the family and guest recession.

After the Ceremony Bryan and Meg treated their guests to a wine tour.; They went to Fox Run, and Glenora Wineries and one other that currently escapes me. I didn’t know what shape they’d be in upon their return for a reception start of 6pm, but everyone was in good shape and ready to party when they got back.  I was able to sneak home and catch a cat nap and was back up at Esperanza Mansion at 3pm to get setup for the party.  Jason and Schuyler assisted me and I couldn’t have done it without them!

Cocktail hour started at 6pm and the playlist contained a primarily ‘coffee house’ feel featuring artists like Jack Johnson, Coldplay, Sarah McClaughlin, Norah Jones, The Fray, and many others.

Grand Entrances Were really fun!  Each member of the wedding party had a song for their entrance.

Entrance Songs:
Kids:  I Like To Move It-Reel 2 Real (Madagascar II Soundtrack)
Mie Mie:  Miami-Will Smith
Scott:  I’m Too Sexy-Right Said Fred
Lorri:  Oh Pretty Woman-Roy Orbison

Bryan & Meg:  Thunderstruck-AC/DC (8th Wonder Remix)

Bryan and Meg entered their party in true style!  Fog & Strobe Lights!

The details:
First Dance (Before Dinner):  You Had Me From Hello-Bon Jovi

Mother/Son Dance (After Dinner):  Kind & Generous-Natalie Merchant
Father/Daughter Dance:  I’ll Stand By You-Pretenders
Meg & Grady’s Mother/Son Dance:  Forever Young-Rod Stewart  This was a really great dance and Grady cut in on his Grandpa Steve and gave him the “heave ho” complete with thumb saying you’re out of here!  Very cute and funny.  What else was great is that Bryan’s Dad came up and requested the song during dinner not knowing it was a special dance request and Bryan and his father George shared a moment while Grady and Meg basked in the moment.

First Open Dance Song:  I’m Yours-Jason Mraz  choreographed group photo on dance floor followed.

Last Slow Set of night:

Other Stuff:
We were able to provide Bryan & Meg’s ‘Name In Lights’ by projecting their Monogram.  Esperanza Mansion is so open and bright that I was concerned that it might not be as dynamic as desired but it was great!  We also provided uplighting for the first time at a wedding at Esperanza Mansion and we received a number of compliments from both guests and the staff.
