Later!

Saturday was a super busy awesome day.  My day started with a great meeting with Sari and Scott.  They are planning an October Esperanza Mansion Wedding and I’m so excited to be part of their day.  I’m also happy to know I’ll be working that day with my friend Tom Mike, who’ll be photographing and capturing their big day.  They’re in good hands all around!

The afternoon and evening had us at the Corning Radisson for Tom and Laura’s Wedding Ceremony and Reception.  It was great working with Shelly and her staff. The ceremony was beautiful and the room looked great.  Tom and Lauras Ceremony took place in the ball room and they used the riser/stage and had a beautiful column/arch setup as the backdrop for their ceremony.  The ceremony was performed by Toms Aunt Joan Blank who did a wonderful job. Tom and Laura wrote their own vows and Tom then wrote and recited vows to Lauras daughters in a very special/emotional moment.  Lauras youngest daughter Justine was so cute and moved to tears by Toms promise and words. After Toms vows to the girls they presented them each with necklaces and while they were doing this I played a Song with voiceover that we created for this moment.  Laura knew she would be moved by this moment and rather than struggle to get out her message we recorded it and used the song In My Daughters Eyes by Martina McBride as the track.

You can listen to Lauras Voiceover by clicking here. Laura then sang a song to Tom and Justine played Canon In D on the piano, and one of the girls friends Emily gave a beautiful and emotional reading.

Ceremony Music Details:

After the ceremony Tom and Laura had a receiving line and their guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the Radisson Lobby and Grill 1-2-5.  We provided music for the cocktail hour with a programmed set list.

While the guests enjoyed cocktail hour the Radisson and FLE Staff feverishly prepared the room for dinner and the party.  The ballroom looked fantastic!  In addition to the beautiful job the Radisson and the florist did in decorating we provided our perimeter up lighting package that really altered the appearance of the room.  It was so cool to hear the guests comments as they made their way to their seats for dinner.  The room looked completely different than when they had been in it just an hour earlier for the ceremony. Tom and Lauras Reception

In addition to the perimeter up lighting in red we provided a projection on the dance floor of Tom and Laura’s Monogram. Fingerlakes Entertainment Name In Lights Wedding Monogram Gobo

After this Tom danced with his mother Carolyn and Laura danced with Toms Uncle Martin and Tom also recorded a special message to his mom and his late father.  You can hear them here. Tom and Laura then shared their first dance and danced to the song Two Is Better Than One by Boys Like Girls ft. Taylor Swift.  They then surprised and entertained their guests with a choreographed dance to Tik Tok by Ke$ha.  Laura’s girls and all the bridesmaids were in on it and it was really fun!

Thank you Tom and Laura!  Here are some additional photos from their special day.

A big thank you to Julia and Kurtis Kracke for putting up with Jason and me recently for a photo shoot. Jason had never had a photo shoot and I was long overdo for some new head shots and Julia and Kurtis did an awesome job and we had a GREAT time with them at their studio.
I felt bad for Kurtis because he was suffering from a recent workout injury and was hobbling around the studio with a cane. I’m sure its funnier to him now than it was that day. He reminded me a little of the old man from the movie UP, minus the tennis balls at the bottom of his can.
Anyways, again, thank you to Julia and Kurtis and if you are in need of an amazing wedding photographer team or studio time with a fun and great photographer make sure to contact the Kracke’s!

It’s ON! Saturday the 25th was the official start of Wedding Season for Fingerlakes Entertainment and our year started off with an amazing event! Bryan and Meg from the Buffalo area held their wedding ceremony and reception at Esperanza Mansion on Keuka Lake and I was honored to be involved with both.

The Ceremony started at 11:30am, which was a pretty early start for me.  The night before Jason and I were at the Lodge At Welch Alyn in Skaneateles for the Cato Meridian Prom and it was a late night and early morning to get ready for Bryan and Meg’s ceremony. They have really great taste in music and wanted something unique, fun and different for their ceremony music.  For prelude music they requested String Quartet Tributes of current/recent Alternative and Pop Hits. I highly recommend the Vitamin String Quartet for this type of tribute and that’s exactly what they requested and what was played.

Here is a list of the Vitamin String Quartet Songs played during the reception.

Viva La Vida
Cable Car
Clocks
Yellow
100 Years
All I want is You
Hallelujah
Don’t Stop Believing
How to Save a Life
Bittersweet Symphony (Seating of Mothers)

Meg, her father Steve, and Matrons of Honor Mie Mie, and Lorri, and Ring Bearer Grady, and Flower Girls Ava and Sara all entered to Pachelbel’s Canon in D’, performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. The ceremony was beautiful, the weather was amazing and Meg and Bryans vows to each other, which they had written and memorized ver amzaing and very touching. After the ring exchange they presented a bracelet to Grady, Meg’s son, and there wasn’t a dry eye under the tent!Meg and Bryans recessional was You Are My Hope, by the Reindeer Section and Beautiful Day by U2 for the family and guest recession.

After the Ceremony Bryan and Meg treated their guests to a wine tour.; They went to Fox Run, and Glenora Wineries and one other that currently escapes me. I didn’t know what shape they’d be in upon their return for a reception start of 6pm, but everyone was in good shape and ready to party when they got back.  I was able to sneak home and catch a cat nap and was back up at Esperanza Mansion at 3pm to get setup for the party.  Jason and Schuyler assisted me and I couldn’t have done it without them!

Cocktail hour started at 6pm and the playlist contained a primarily ‘coffee house’ feel featuring artists like Jack Johnson, Coldplay, Sarah McClaughlin, Norah Jones, The Fray, and many others.

Grand Entrances Were really fun!  Each member of the wedding party had a song for their entrance.

Entrance Songs:
Kids:  I Like To Move It-Reel 2 Real (Madagascar II Soundtrack)
Mie Mie:  Miami-Will Smith
Scott:  I’m Too Sexy-Right Said Fred
Lorri:  Oh Pretty Woman-Roy Orbison

Bryan & Meg:  Thunderstruck-AC/DC (8th Wonder Remix)

Bryan and Meg entered their party in true style!  Fog & Strobe Lights!

The details:
First Dance (Before Dinner):  You Had Me From Hello-Bon Jovi

Mother/Son Dance (After Dinner):  Kind & Generous-Natalie Merchant
Father/Daughter Dance:  I’ll Stand By You-Pretenders
Meg & Grady’s Mother/Son Dance:  Forever Young-Rod Stewart  This was a really great dance and Grady cut in on his Grandpa Steve and gave him the “heave ho” complete with thumb saying you’re out of here!  Very cute and funny.  What else was great is that Bryan’s Dad came up and requested the song during dinner not knowing it was a special dance request and Bryan and his father George shared a moment while Grady and Meg basked in the moment.

First Open Dance Song:  I’m Yours-Jason Mraz  choreographed group photo on dance floor followed.

Last Slow Set of night:

Colorful-The Verve Pipe, Chasing Cars-Snow Patrol
Last Song:  Shout-Isley Brothers

Other Stuff:
We were able to provide Bryan & Meg’s ‘Name In Lights’ by projecting their Monogram.  Esperanza Mansion is so open and bright that I was concerned that it might not be as dynamic as desired but it was great!  We also provided uplighting for the first time at a wedding at Esperanza Mansion and we received a number of compliments from both guests and the staff.
