Thank you so much for doing such a great job as our DJ for our 9/10/11 wedding reception at the Statler! We had a wonderful time, and many of our guests mad a point to mention that they enjoyed the DJ. You did a great job encorporating all of our song requests and making sure everything ran smoothly. It was great to see a huge crowd on the dance floor until the very end.

Creative use of up lighting and adjustable shelving to create a very modern and fun aesthectic

Last fall I worked with Melissa Hill and one of her staff members to put together packages to assist her in making the Terrace Ballroom and Terrace Lounge more attractive for clients and to transform the space into a very elegant and TOTALLY different looking area.

Here are a few photos from the Statler Hotel Terrace Ballroom. Its amazing that just 30 minutes prior to these photos this area was being used as a college cafeteria! Lighting and the right design and utilization of it can transform any space.

Lighting can transform a room into something current and modern or traditional, warm or retro. Beyond just “washing” walls with color we can use pin spots and spot lights to highlight and showcase architecture, artwork, or if you’re decorating a wedding table pieces, cakes or features of your venue of interest. The options are endless and we look forward to planning and designing lighting packages and options for our clients and their space.

A mix of traditional and modern. Adjustable shelving with drapes and LED Light Panels along with a Pin/Spot light to highlight artwork.

Using adjustable shelving and candles with the spot lighting of photograph to create a warm traditional atmosphere.

Chris & Andrea Wedding Up Lighting Statler Hotel Cornell University

Full Room…Full Lighting Control=Awesome!!!!! Chris and Andrea had us provide lighting for their reception at the Statler Hotel on the Cornell University Campus in Ithaca on July 3. We have been at Statler a number or previous times and always love working with Melissa and her staff. They are so acommodating to their clients and to us.
We set the room and linked all the fixtures back to our laptop and software based light contol. Chris and Andrea wanted to change the color of the lighting through out the evening and have ceretain colors for certain traditions. Dave was my light tech for the event and worked with Chris and Andrea to subtly set the room lighting/colors to their desired colors at the appropriate time. The rest of the evening we set the lights to match their wedding colors for 10 minute intervals and then did a 10 second gradient change from one color to another. I was very happy with the outcome and so were Chris and Andrea. The colors we used were in this sequence Green-Blue-Purple-Yellow. I was very happy with the yellow. Many LED Fixtures don’t replicate yellow or amber very well but I was very happy with the yellow.

On a side note. We are at the Statler often with event lighting. If only we could DJ there! Hire us to do both you’ll have a wonderful looking room AND a party for the ages!

We were contracted by Lydia and Chris to provide light scaping and dance floor lighting for their July 4th Reception at The Statler Hotel on the Cornell Campus in Ithaca.
Lydia was awesome to plan with and we didn’t have much time to put her package together I think the photos show how much the lighting really transfo…rms the room. Lydia was in contact with us very last minute after an issue with someone she had previously contracted was non responsive.
We provided perimeter uplighting in white to accent the pink on the tables and then used pink in an adjacent lounge area to tie in with the color scheme. I didn’t want the platinum and white table and chair covers to reflect to much pink and turn everything pink and the amound of pink and white balanced just right.
We also provided a moving texture effect on the dancefloor. I used two “liquid projectors” with a white moving gobo to create a subtle moving texture of ice in the dace floor. The house lights above the dace floor were brought up just enough to create the perfect amount of light.
Schuyler set up the system prior to their reception and did a really great job. After my reception at Belhurst Castle the same evening I drove from Geneva to Ithaca and tore down the setup and then drove home to Penn Yan.
I arrived just as their reception was finishing and it looked like they had a great time.
